Selected Work

Costa Constantinides for queens borough President

Costa centered his campaign for Queens Borough President around climate change. From replacing the ‘Big Allis’ power plant in Astoria responsible for creating Asthma Alley in Western Queens, to a Renewable Rikers Island, to bringing hydroponic gardens to every Queens public school, Costa had an eye toward the feature.

As his finance team, our responsibility was managing the trifecta of call time segmentation and oversight, the whole fundraising operation and all of the pieces of the campaign it touched, and compliance with the New York City Campaign Finance Board. With this work, our team brought in over a million dollars with match during a special election in early 2020.

As Early Voting began, the COVID-19 pandemic struck and Queens was the epicenter of the epicenter. Voting was postponed until June 2020, and our team also took on the Mutual Aid and texting operation that our team shifted to. From April to June 2020, our team sent over 300,000 text messages to different populations, making sure folks were okay and had the resources they needed. Closer to Election Day, we also sent messages of persuasion to targeted populations.

David aronov for City Council

David Aronov is a first-generation Bukharian-American who wanted to help represent his community in City Council. As a former Queens Census organizer, he knew how important it was to make sure everyone was counted and represented. As a first time candidate, he started his campaign early, and immediately began organizing friends and neighbors through the communities of Forest Hills, Rego Park and Richmond Hill.

As his field team, we oversaw all components of the outreach operation during COVID-19. This included a hybrid approach of in person campaigning once cases subsided amid a growing vaccination rate, text messages, voicemail drops, and relational organizing through different social media platforms. All of these techniques kept Ranked Choice Voting in mind, where a push was made to rank David #1 or #2. An educational component was also implemented.

With thousands of IDs and voter registrations, the campaign was able to mobilize a unique cross-section of support that was mobilized by several field touches by the campaign. This was especially true for the Bukrarian community, a low turnout community. One in every four Bukrarian voters was a first time voter for David.

Additionally, we partnered with Green Canvas Productions to write, direct, and shoot a final ad for the campaign.

Reshma Patel for NYC Comptroller

Reshma Patel is a public finance expert. She has worked $35 billion of bond transactions for state and local governments, and helped the financial recovery of the city following 9/11. She jumped into the Comptroller’s race with just three months to go before Election Day — in a race that already had established politicians with strong fundraising networks.

As her fundraising team, we oversaw all aspects of the high dollar fundraising program, which included list segmentation, assembling and managing larger fundraising events, call time management, and compliance with the New York City Campaign Finance Board. The latter included outreach to donors to ensure we have the proper paperwork for them.

In a two month timespan, we were able to raise over $125,000 dollars in gifts under $250, which were matched 8:1 by the City of New York — providing over a million dollars to the campaign for the final month to spread its message.
